After lunch we donned black rubber boots and headed back into the park for a short, muddy hike on the only trail the park offered. Inside, the dense jungle shaded us from the heat of the afternoon, until we emerged onto the beach and I instantly fried. A few monkeys got unbelievably close, but of course my camera was dead by then.

This was our last view of the park. Our group headed back to the hotel, grabbed our stuff, and were transported in separate directions to our next destinations – not before exchanging friends requests and emails though, of course. I felt old fashioned with my little notebook as people pulled out iPhones and tablets to jot down information. Then again, when I was reunited with the rest of my luggage, I immediately pulled out my laptop. Ahhhh, wifi.
